From 1893, when the last  reported deer was harvested in Knox County, IN. until 1934 the whitetail
was a blantant example of man's complete unconcern for the animal Kingdom. From 1934 until 1942,
246 whitetails were purchased and realeased with license money and  Pittman-Robertson Act funds.
